The world is noisy and unsettled right now.
And I know that it’s affecting you. (I know that because you wouldn’t be here following me otherwise. We feel things deeply and that’s part of our greatness – even if it means we need to work extra hard to maintain balance and take care of ourselves.)
Some days, when I break my self-imposed no-news ban, I feel like some of the things I’m hearing just can’t be real.
There’s uncertainty in the economy, unrest in the news, and — for many business owners — a quiet voice asking:
“Is it even worth it anymore?”
I can tell you that based on a lot of conversations I’m having lately, you’re not alone if bookings have slowed, if the old marketing strategies feel tired, or if your energy is low.
It’s hard to sell when everyone seems to be struggling – emotionally and financially.
But here’s what I believe — and what I’m seeing firsthand:
We’re at a turning point.
What’s Working in 2025?
The truth is that people are buying and investing, but they are more discerning. More cautious. Now more than ever, what has to be in place before they will commit to working with you (and investing their money, time and energy) is:
Connection.
Clarity.
Trust.
This doesn’t mean you have to be everywhere. And you don’t have to be loud or push harder. But it does mean not getting stuck and going into hiding.
It means showing up in ways that are intentional, honest, and deeply human to meet your clients where they are right now. And above all else, making sure you are actually showing up and reach enough of the right people so they actually get the chance to work with you (and pay you!).
The good news is that I think this has been our priority for a while now. It’s not new for us. Which means that we actually have an advantage. We get to lean even more into what our instincts were already telling us was the best strategy for marketing and selling.
What does that look like in practice?
- Update your photos to reflect who you are now — not who you were two years ago. Your clients need to feel you, not just see you.
- Use video (even short clips) to show your energy, your tone of voice, your presence. It builds trust so much faster than words alone.
- Share your process. What does working with you feel like? How do you guide your clients? What’s different about the experience you offer?
- Create a content rhythm that’s sustainable. You don’t need to post every day — just consistently and with intention.
- Speak to what your clients are actually struggling with. Not just what they think they want — but the deeper fear or frustration underneath it.
How to put this into action yourself:
If now isn’t the time for you to invest in my help with your photos or videos, here are some ways you can get started yourself:
- use your phone to take photos of every moments as you go through your day – like working from home or exploring a place or sharing habits and routines that are meaningful to you and relatable to your audience – find a friend and take turns filming each other. Film behind the scenes when you are working with a client or in a digital coaching session to show your process.
- find some nice window light at home, put your phone on a tripod or just stand it up somewhere and talk to the camera. From all of the conversations I’m having with people these days, this one is really easy to put off because it just feels hard/uncomfortable/annoying. But remember that showing up imperfectly is infinitely better than not showing up at all. And most importantly, the more you do it, the easier it gets.
And just post. Yes, quality is crucial, but posted is better than perfect.
