{executive coach}⁠ ⁠ I’ve had several photo {executive coach}⁠ ⁠ I’ve had several photo shoots with Malin (@mhleadership) and each one has been an absolute joy.⁠ ⁠ We’ve wanted to capture a range of stories, from coaching with a client, in work-mode, doing presentations, mindfulness, movement and meditation. We’ve also taken portraits that capture a range of expressions so that they match the type of content she shares.⁠ ⁠ On her most recent shoot we went into the gym to get some really badass photos of her training.⁠ ⁠ Coaches work in different ways, and I can really see how Malin’s approach is perfect for her clients.⁠ ⁠ As we’ve discussed every time we meet, it’s impossible to have transformation without working with all the layers. The conversations, the journalling, the movement and everything else, are all tools that make a huge difference.⁠ ⁠ I have Malin to thank for planting the seed that I could possible love running, and it’s been life changing. Not just physically or for my energy, but for my mental strength. So I get it. {one-size-fits-all}⁠ ⁠ I always hesitate to gi {one-size-fits-all}⁠ ⁠ I always hesitate to give tips to a wide audience, like here on IG.⁠ ⁠ I have a lot that I want to share, and I am trying to share more these days, but for me, things are rarely black and white. I also tailor my photo shoots to each client's needs, so giving generic advice is tricky.⁠ ⁠ This is why I try to focus on advice that you can tailor to your own personality, business and brand (and why I give my full permission to ignore my or anyone else's advice).⁠ ⁠ Even when it comes to personal brand photography, I refuse to believe that there is a set of rules that we need to stick to. There's no one-size-fits-all solution.⁠ ⁠ What I want everyone to really take in is this.⁠ ⁠ If your photos feel like you, they are going to resonate with the right people.⁠ ⁠ They don't need to be literal. Like, you don't actually have to share photos of your actual workspace. But if you share environments that feel like you, that say something about your personality, the energy that you bring to the work you do, it's going to be right.⁠ ⁠ There's a big difference between the feeling of photos of you walking on the beach, deep in the moment, soaking in the smell of the sea, and a photo of you dressed in heels in a modern office.⁠ ⁠ Whatever photos you choose to share, if they feel like you and speak to your dream clients, they are right.⁠ ⁠ They are going to spark their interest, start conversations, entice them in to read your captions, to click on to your website and listen to your podcast and watch your videos.⁠ ⁠ Do you find it overwhelming to know what photos are right for you? {5 questions your photos should answer} The photo {5 questions your photos should answer} The photos you share in your coaching business should answer these 5 questions: 1. What kind of coach are you? (Can I quickly see if you’re a health/business/confidence/relationship/fill-in-the-blank coach? We don’t have the time or headspace for confusion or unnecessary information. Make it clear in the photos you share if I should pay attention.) 2. Who do you help? (Ie. Are you talking to me? Do you specialise in helping creative, small business owners or executive leaders? Are you a health coach working with professional athletes or non-athletes who want more movement and energy in their everyday lives? Show this in your photos and make it clear so the right people stick around, follow you, get in touch and book.) 3. Where and how do you coach? (Online? In a cosy room? In a modern conference room? On a walk-and-talk in nature? Share photos that show this.) 4. What does a coaching session with you FEEL like? (Share photos of you in action so I can see if it’s the right feeling for me.) 5. Are we going to click? (Are you going to GET me, the issues I want to work on, my communication style, my priorities and energy? Am I going to feel comfortable opening up and being vulnerable with you? Share storytelling photos that capture more of YOU, your energy and personality. Share your passions and what drives you. Watch this space for that one.⁠ ⁠ I work with a lot of coaches, and what I love is that every single one brings their unique qualities to the table that make them the right person for their clients.⁠ ⁠ While on the surface, their stories may seem the same - they have conversations with clients (either irl or online) and maybe even use similar tools to do their job, that’s often where the similarities end.⁠ ⁠ The conversations look and feel different from each other. Their own personalities shine through and set the tone of their coaching. {who do you think you are?}⁠ ⁠ Should your pho {who do you think you are?}⁠ ⁠ Should your photos represent the person 'you want to be'? The person that you are growing into?⁠ ⁠ Or should they represent who you are right now?⁠ ⁠ This isn't a post where I give you a black and white answer, because I don't think there is one. But I think of this often and would love to know your thoughts.⁠ ⁠ The reality is that we (especially women) tend to be the last to see our own power. The people around you can see how great you are and the difference you're making to the world. Even when you might not see it yourself.⁠ ⁠ And I'm just going to say it.⁠ ⁠ My superpower is seeing the best in others. It sounds like a cliché, I know, but it's true. (As a grown-up who can see the benefits and drawbacks of this and who's become very good at setting boundaries, I'm really proud of it. I've realised it makes my job as a personal brand photographer so intuitive and a lot of fun.)⁠ ⁠ This means that I the photos I take of you are of the woman I see.⁠ ⁠ Whether this means photos in a luxury hotel or in your living room, it doesn't matter. Whether you have your hair and makeup professionally done, or you go makeup free.
